How do I choose a homogenizer for a skincare emulsion?

Do I need both a homogenizer and an agitator?
Yes, for most emulsions. The homogenizer creates shear at the head but cannot deliver uniform flow and temperature to a full vessel on its own. An anchor or sweep agitator moves the whole mass, a scraper removes product from the heated wall to prevent a cooked film, and baffles stop the batch rotating as a solid body. How is scale-up validated?

What cleaning regime does a mixing vessel need?

Order the schedule so a light product follows a heavy one only after verified cleaning, and confirm with a swab result rather than a visual check.
